Rama
26.5” handmade necklace of black pearls, emeralds, and rubies with a silver and marcasite clasp.
Named for Rama Rani Srivastava
My Mother.
Born on September 29th, she passed away at the age of 81 on June 5th of this year.
She lived her life brilliantly and worked hard to make her values real, facilitating cultural exchange in her community with shared intercultural and inter religious meals, festivals, and celebrations, and helping extended family and others worldwide access educational opportunities whenever she could.
She had an active interest in politics, environmental conservation and local sustainability.
My mother was a champion for her daughters and granddaughters. There is a void in my life that is inexpressible. I will never quite heal, but I am proud that I am my mother’s daughter.
This necklace, “Rama”, is in honor of my mother.
